This pencil is made from northern sugar maple burl wood.  As with all wood, there are variations between each piece so the one you receive will vary somewhat from the one that is pictured.  The chrome plated components and mechanial parts are long lasting and dependable.  All of our Lamar Mechanical Pencils use .07 leads.  The lead advances with the push of the click plunger on the back of the pencil.  To retract the lead, push and hold the plunger, then manually push the lead back into the mechanism.    A convenient eraser is concealed under the plunger.
